Sealite Welcomes Visit From Chittagong Port Authority, Bangladesh

After recent large contract awards, Sealite was pleased to welcome visitors from Chittagong Port Authority during April, 2013.

Chittagong Port handles more than 80% of the country’s imports and exports making it the prime port of Bangladesh. Situated on the Karnaphuli River, close to the Bay of Bengal, Chittagong Port is described as the lifeline of the Bangladeshi economy.

Rear Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed (Chairman), Capt. Nazmul Alam (Deputy Conservator) the representatives of Chittagong Port Authority and Mr Nasir Arif Mahmud (Joint Secretary) of Ministry of Shipping were impressed by Sealite’s in-house manufacturing facilities for both ocean buoys and marine lantern equipment, and the use of robotics in the production processes.

Accompanying Chittagong Port Authority Officials was Mr N.H. Khan of Multitech Systems, Sealite’s Bangladesh Distributor. Multitech Systems has been an avid and very passionate Sealite advocate and has shown the Sealite range of products to many Ports throughout Bangladesh since 2007.

Sealite would like to thank the Chittagong Port Authority and Sealite partner Multitech Systems for taking the time to come and visit the company’s manufacturing facility in Australia.
